A while back i posted about men who quilt. And i promised some pics when i could get all the techno jazz sorted (which i have) so Behold! The first man quilt. Made from recycled denim and backed with fabric from the/my stash as well as a great piece HE purchased in Finland! Yes, the animal one! It's still not bound, that's my job. It was machine quilted as he is not into handsewing as yet! But this is no fad, no one-hit wonder. No way! He is (as i type) finishing off quilt number four! Bloody heck! And number 2 and 3 are at the quilters! That's number 3 below, made from recycled big day out fabrics. All his own idea, all his own design, and mostly his sweat but a bit of mine too. Slowly i've convinced/nagged him into ironing before cutting (it's taken him til now to appreciate the time it saves in the long run) and pinning before sewing. (Crikey! he's got the graph paper out and is already planning Number 5.) As for me, i'm thankful that we can share our views and appreciation of fabric in all it's glory, that the sewing mess is Not all mine and he can sniff out a vintage pillow case at 50 metres! ok Enough about him!
