Just another thursday.....

Work in progress: only if 'progress' means take All the time in the world...... That's Joes quilt (in progress) started about 2 (?) years ago. I've used mainly old stash fabrics and a great piece called Road Trip i bought on the net from the states. I only wish i'd bought more. This quilt is evolving every time i pull it out. And now that it's almost bed size i can see the overall look and how close i could be to finishing it. That's the tricky thing when you design something from scratch, without a pattern or image to work from, you're never quite sure how it will look, how the design will work as a complete piece. All the strips are machine pieced (easy) and then I've appliqed blocks based loosely on some of Joe's drawings, some are more abstract than others. But I feel like i'm on the home stretch now, only a few more blocks to go.....
And below is a prize i won at the mixtape blogmeet at Amitie last saturday. It was a lovely afternoon spent sewing and chatting with other lovely bloggy folk. Always fun to mix with fellow crafters. I don't have a pic of my present i made for Jodie, I hope she liked it! And if you check out Christie's blog she has a great image of the gift i was lucky enough to receive. My photo's don't do it justice! It's an amazing japanese wrap. I love it! And Thanks to Nic and Fi and Justine (in absentia) for organising the get-together!

I love this quilt!!!! I've recently been working on a quilt with a similar theme for my little boy. (see in my blog).
It was lovely to meet you today. I have already started working with the fabric I bought.
