The poor pc got a virus and then i caught it too.... so lots of nuthin going on...... And for some post-viral reason i cannot upload images from my camera which is very annoying so i've grabbed anything to make things more visually exciting... This is what i'm listening to at the moment: Charlie Watts and the 103rd Street Rhythm band. A Very good sunday afternoon recuperating soundtrack, eating some hummingbird cake and home made pate (not together!) and cleaning out some junk and sewing some wool together for a blanket. I only wish sunday was about 48 hours long, i'm just getting into the swing of it. Saturday, May 31, 2008

work in progress
Now that my sewing machine is back and fully operational (thankyou Universal John) i've begun trawling through the craft cupboard to find those projects that were shoved to the back awaiting machine sewing. And i discovered these three quilt tops made many moons ago. All hand stitched, the oldest (on the right) was probably sewn about 13 years ago, whilst i was pregnant with my second child... and Yes, i never got around to finishing them but now i'm feeling inspired to take them to the next stage. I gave them a wash and threw them on the line where i've had them in view for part of the day. It's really only a matter of finding fabric from the stash for borders and binding, and then the quilting can commence. Yes, another project to add to the list. ('cept i'm not a list person... if i write them, i just ignore it...should probably work on that) Hope everyone had a relaxing/creative/quiet/sociable/cake-eating weekend. Happy mother's day!Friday, May 9, 2008
Here is a shot of the finished drawers, it was fun to do and i'm now on a mission to slap some paper onto more objects.... I've some drawers from an old cupboard that is falling apart and they could become the next project, maybe turn them into boxes to hold fabric or sewing paraphanalia. Must dash...soup boiling over..........Saturday, May 3, 2008
time to do

When there's no-one else home it's amazing how much I can achieve (or how much mess one person can create). These boxes had me stumped for awhile, too much dilly-dallying over choosing paper, and then even more painful, making that first cut.... But i did it! Now i'm applying layers of sealer (modge podge) and so far so good. I paint on a layer then fold some washing, another layer, chop veg for soup, another layer, put the kettle on. Meanwhile, i'm trying to plan out some other projects for the next few weeks: Knitting a scarf, small fabric picture, a new cat design for a fabric softie, just for starters. So while there's no people interruptions i'll get on with the crafting in-between the humdrum of keeping house. Hope everyone out there is finding some craft time too! Have seen a lot of action out there in blogland, must be the change of seasons.
