sunday shrine

On any sunday, in any weather, usually about 7.35 am you can find us at our neighbourhood cafe.....last sunday i happened to remember (at 7.25am) to grab the camera. I wanted to record this moment in history. This is our view from our table....... Hallelujah!

That's the quilting bloke. He may look innocent enough but behind the geeky facade is a rollicking crafter! He's up to quilt number FIVE, using his backlog of t-shirts. Next, we are collaborating on a quilt for his dad. There's no stopping him and try as i might, i can't keep up with him.
And a perfect surprise in the friday letterbox: MIXTAPE. I love that it's produced locally, I really like the varied contributors: local talent and those from further afield, plus it's cool without taking itself too seriously. Great work Justine and Nic!

day of rest

We Survived! Much boy-sterousness and hi-jinks, even Murder in the Dark! Lots of energy, giggling and like, stuff, like? But there was a BIG voice used at 4am! We snuck out for coffee early and on our return they finally roused themselves for pancakes. There'll be a lot of sleepy heads today! So with a now empty house i'm cramming some leftover chips into me whilst sewing! Perfect. And check this out. It's like, way cool!

add this to that....

this joins with that
then it's ready for basting....

and this is how a sewing table adds another dimension when you have eleven in for lunch. Whack on a couple of thrifted curtains as table cloths, mix up the wine glasses that don't match (who has 11 matching anything?) alternate the different napkins/plate/glasses and voila!

We're about tobe inundated with 6 twelve year old boys for a belated birthday party/sleepover. No the table above is not for them, that was a family lunch last weekend. They're having a more informal table, lasagna on the menu and banana cake for dessert! Ping Pong and Fooz ball in the garage (Yay!) and a diy soccer net in the back yard. And a few foxtail treats that Joe has been recording for the past few weeks for later in the evening..................... If all goes according to plan they'll be silent by midnight (Who am i kidding????) Us adults will be holed up in the bedroom. With supplies. And ear plugs!
