as the temperature drops....

it's time to take up a needle and thread. Drawing, cutting, shifting, more cutting, pinning and the process begins. I'm making some wall hangings (sounds so 70's macrame) but they are what they are! Pictures to hang on the wall, out of fabric applique, using new and old, bits of apron and pillow case, fat quarters and scraps of treasured linen. I like the discovery , when a piece of fabric or a shape brings the over all piece together or, takes it in another direction, another idea to explore. Hope to have something to show sooon!

the owl hoots twice at catfish bend....

....is the title of a favourite novel i read when i was about 8 y.o. Set in New Orleans, quite spooky and strange but i read it over and over again. Like UHU, another owl story, about a fledgling owl(let) found and nursed and nourished....very beautiful and very very sad. But i like owls!

The owl below was recently hunted down in Sandringham and also functions as a night light! The one above is a ceramic folk piece from Russia.

the fledgling....

Blogging is easy, Blogging is fun... or that's what i keep telling myself!
Spent the weekend doodling rather than doing, still haven't quite made the switch from holiday season into productivity, but that's half the fun. Sorting, folding and re-folding fabric piles, opening the craft cupboard and trying to pick up where i left off in december. I snapped some shots of new aquisitions you'll see under Treasure Hunt... thrifted in Perth. Thankyou to the ladies of the Dunsborough Bowling Club!

just taken a running jump and landed in blogland, not sure if it will be a perfect 9.9 landing or a belly flop..but here goes.....

Hello there, this is Thunder Road's very first posting, and i'm tongue-tied (or brain to keyboard function is shot!) So i'll take it slowly, not worry about grammar and punctuation too much and just get something down!

My name is Jane and I craft. So does my sister. Together we are One Trick Pony. And we'll be showing you some of our crafty stuff as soon as i can work out how to post a photo!!! Maybe now...even.....here goes!
